Howth Yatch Club |
The Club is one of the largest in Ireland with over 2,000 members and is one of the longest established in the country, dating back to 1895. With a 300-berth marina, more swinging moorings in the harbour and a large dinghy fleet, the club is highly active at all levels and is regarded as one of the premier racing clubs on the Irish sailing scene.
HYC members have won countless national and international championships, represented Ireland at Olympic level and been closely involved in the administration of sailing at home and abroad. The Club has also earned a reputation for its abilities in race management and has hosted numerous Regional, National, European and World Championships over the years. In addition, there is a strong nucleus of cruising enthusiasts who have sailed to
all corners of the world and won awards for their exploits.
The Club also boasts the world’s oldest surviving one-design keelboat class still actively racing, the Howth Seventeen.
